P.E.O. Founders' Day Luncheon
March 2, 2013, is the annual
OKC P.E.O. Founders’ Day Luncheon at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club.
Over 200 Oklahoma City area
P.E.O.’s meet to honor the P.E.O. Founders and to honor P.E.O. fifty year
members.
P.E.O. was founded on January
21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant,
Iowa. Today, P.E.O. has grown from that
tiny membership of seven to almost a quarter of a million chapters throughout
the U.S. and Canada.
True to the mission of
promoting educational opportunities for women, education continues to be the
primary philanthropy of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
To date, P.E.O. has awarded
in excess of 238.5 million in educational grants, loans, awards and special
projects.
