Southern Baptist Sissies

None
6 p.m., Friday April 19

Robert JM Productions presents Southern Baptist Sissies by Del Shores performing April 12-27 at the Boom Dinner Theatre. With a theme of religion clashing with sexuality, this award winning play  follows the lives of four gay boys growing up in the Baptist church. The play stars Scotty Taylor as Mark, the sissy who dreams of a perfect world, Doug Rankin as Benny, the effeminate sissy, Jason McKelvy as TJ, the masculine sissy and Kaleb Bruza as Andrew, the conflicted sissy who can’t pray away the feelings.

Rounding out the cast is Paul James as the Preacher, Courtney Hahne as the Mothers, Sean Eckart as the “go-go” boy with Lilli Bassett and Robert Matson as the barflies, Odette and Peanut.

The production is being directed by Kenneth Benton, who recently directed “Mrs. Mannerly” at Carpenter Square. Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 8 pm with dinner service starting at 6 pm. The Boom Dinner Theatre is located at 2218 NW 39th St. and tickets are $15. For reservations and information you can go to www.tarsplace.com or call 286-9298. Southern Baptist Sissies is presented by special arrangements with Samuel French Inc. The show does contain strong adult language and sexual situations. You must be 21 or over to attend.
