Where'd My Socks Go

7 p.m., Friday May 24

Missing socks come to life in the land of Hamperville, in the family play, “Where’d My Sock Go?!” written and directed by Robert Matson. The play for all ages will perform Friday, May 24 at 7 pm and Saturday May 25 at 2 pm and 7 pm at Edmond Memorial High School located at 1000 E. 15th St.

Squabbling siblings, Lorna and Max, travel through the other side of the dryer to find a missing sock and a missing child. Aided by a nervous bright yellow sock they encounter all different types of living socks, a shoe string, a performing five toed sock band, a piece of gum, lipstick and a group of nonsensical lint. They must save the missing child before Dirt, the most evil sock in Hamperville, throws her into the sludge.

“Where’d My Sock Go?!” is a part of the Edmond Memorial High School Theatre Production Class Community Outreach Program.  “The students of Ms. Merritt’s class are a big part of this project,” says Robert Matson, “They are not only performing in the play but they are creating the set, the props and costumes for this show. So far it has been amazing and exciting to watch what her students create.”

The cast also consists of other students from Edmond’s area schools and a few adults too, ranging from age 7 to adult.

Leading the cast are EMHS students Wyatt McGuire as Max, Olivia Fish as Lorna and Meleah Emerson as Little J’s Yellow Sock with Hannah Edmondson as Dirt, Ryan McCormick as Argyle, Erinn Celestine as Fabreeka and Sarah McCoy as Pearl Two.

Other area students include Eli Owens, Kincade White, Chelsea Yeager, Jonathan Burciaga, Hope Schafer, Cassie Schafer, Faith Brewer, Skye Shrader, Brittany Shrader, Maggie Percival, Ashley Cooper, Miranda Fair, Alex Gorman, Natasha Naik, Billy Harsha along with our adult cast, Erin Honious, Rory Littleton and Sherri Fair.

“If you are looking for something fun for the whole family,” says Matson, “This is the show to see and maybe just maybe you will find the answer to where that other missing sock goes.”

“Where’d My Sock Go?!” performs May 24 and 25 at Edmond Memorial High School. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.  No reservations. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information go and type in the search field: Where’d My Sock Go? or email Robert Matson

This family play is being presented by The EMHS Theatre Production Class and produced by Robert JM Productions.
