Romero Guitar Institute
The Romeros Guitar Quartet plans to hold its fifth annual Romero Guitar Institute June 20 through 27 on the Southern Nazarene University campus and will hold a special one-night-only concert on June 27 at Armstrong Auditorium in Edmond.
“The Romeros family has become one of the most respected guitar quartets in the world,” Shane Granger, marketing manager of Armstrong Auditorium, said. “These students have an unbelievable opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s best. For those dedicated to the craft, this is the chance of a lifetime and we are honored to continue the strong relationship between Armstrong Auditorium and the ‘Royal Family of Guitar’ with another exclusive performance.”
The Institute already has 28 applicants, ages 15 to 30, signed up to learn from the masters of guitar. Accepted individuals will partake in private lessons, master classes and group performances from the award-winning musicians. The Romero Guitar Quartet’s accolades include a Grammy, repeat performances at virtually every major symphony orchestra in the United States, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and more.
“There is nowhere else in the world that students can study in such depth from the Romeros Quartet,” Matt Denman, Oklahoma City guitarist, teacher and former Romero pupil, said. “Many students who have participated in this course credit it as one of the most transformative experiences of their musical careers.”
Tickets for the performance at Armstrong Auditorium are available on TicketStorm.com for $20.
