Crossing Bloodlines: An American story of the Estelusti people depicted through photographic images.

The Muscogee Creek Indian Freedmen Band’s exhibition, “Crossing Bloodlines:’’ An American story of the Estelusti people depicted through photographic images will open on July 13, 2013, at the Oklahoma Black Museum and Performing Arts Center . The exhibit will explore the distinct cultural identities of the Black Indians through photographic images. The exhibition will feature Black Indians from various geographical areas, and tribal affiliations. Special emphasis will be focused on the Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes; Creek, Cherokee, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw. Many of the images tell a story of how the lives of Africans and Indians intertwined as one, a life of shared cultur e, language, food, and family. Please join us for the opening program on July 13, 2013 from 2:00P.M to 5.00 P.M. Reception and a live band will perform.
