The Red Dirt Theater Company of Oklahoma City opens its first production, David Mamet’s Race, Thursday July 18 at 8:00PM on the campus of Oklahoma City Community College.
The play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross, Oleanna) is a tale of sex, guilt and bold accusations.
Two lawyers find themselves defending a wealthy white executive charged with raping a black woman. When a new legal associate gets involved in the case, the opinions that boil beneath explode to the surface. When David Mamet turns the spotlight on what we think, but can’t say, dangerous truths are revealed, and no punches are spared.
This is the first offering of The Red Dirt Theater Company, a group dedicated to producing controversial and provocative theater. The production is directed by Mitch McFarland and stars Brent Noel, Roderick Wright, Shellie Sterling and Timothy Pranter.
Performances are July 18, 19 and 25, 26 at 8:00PM in the Theatre Lab at Oklahoma City Community College, 7777 S May Ave. Ticket prices are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Seating is limited.
