Zach Burns, Focused and Blurred Workshop
1-3 p.m., Friday August 02
Zach Burns gives a glimpse into his world that is both "focused and blurred." Because Burns is legally blind in his left eye, he places an unfocused image next to a focused one. This reveals a clear and deeper look into his perspective. Burns said, "I reveal myself to others through my images, inviting the viewer to know my work, and to know me."
At this workshop, Burns will demonstrate his unique process of capturing images, how it came about, and discuss how this process reveals himself to others, communicating his perspective and his life through the medium of his own obscured sight. Burns will also direct attendees in creating their own stereoscopic images using his camera, giving each participant hands on experience with 3D medium format pinhole film photography.
Attendees need bring nothing but themselves to this free workshop.
