On and Off the Wall
Friday November 01
In Your Eye Gallery, in the Historic Paseo Arts District, is pleased to present On and Off the Wall, featuring three distinctly different Oklahoma artists. Bold, abstract painter and member artist Chad Woolbright teams up with figurative sculptor Link Cowen and photo-realistic painter Paul Snyder to showcase three contrasting approaches and styles.
In Your Eye Studio & GalleryPhone:
Oklahoma artist Paul Snyder began drawing at the age of two and never stopped. Strongly encouraged by his family but without formal art education, Snyder experimented until he developed his own unconventional approach to photo-realism.
Shawnee artist Link Cowen studied sculpture at St. Gregory's College in the 1970s, a transformative experience he would come back to years later after work in the decorative concrete business. Cowen now builds dramatic human and animal forms in clay.
Chad Woolbright of Oklahoma City started painting only six years ago. His unique style varies from piece to piece, but is marked by his use of bold colors and, interestingly, the various surfaces he utilizes. In fact, Woolbright is just as likely to paint on plexiglass, wood, or a window screen as he is to paint on a conventional canvas. His work has been exhibited at several regional galleries and art shows and is in private collections across the country.
