Women's Heart Health Week
Monday February 17
Heart disease kills approximately 1 woman every minute. It is the leading cause of death among women, yet many do not know they are at risk. The Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi is hosting their annual Women's Heart Health Week February 17-21 to bring awareness and raise money for this important cause. Utilizing the curriculum Take Heart, Take Part, developed by Alpha Phi International fraternity, Delta Delta will be the first Alpha Phi chapter to provide free CPR training to their entire campus. The free CPR training will be at the Alpha Phi house on the OCU campus at 7:30PM. Tuesday at 7:30 at the Alpha Phi house, Delta Delta will host a karaoke night. Wednesday night at 7:30PM, Jorda n Reynolds will be providing a free zumba class to promote exercise for a healthy heart, also at the Alpha Phi house. Thursday there will be a cupcake sale outside the cafeteria during meal times. Finally, Delta Delta will conclude their Women's Heart Health Week with their annual King of Hearts Pageant at 7PM in the Great Hall. Throughout the week, Alpha Phi will have a table set up outside the cafeteria to sell raffle tickets for exciting baskets with great prizes, such as Thunder tickets and a signed Mackelmore tank. The Delta Delta sisters are excited to bring awareness to their campus and raise money for a cause that is near to their hearts.
