Let's Talk Turf

10-11:30 a.m., Saturday February 22
Always envious of your neighbors’ green lawn? Get a head start this year as Gardens Lead Horticulturist Sayre McNeil explains the differences between cool-season grasses like fescue and warm-season grasses like Bermuda and Zoysia, the difference in maintenance requirements, and which is best for you. McNeil will walk participants through an easy-tofollow, take-home maintenance calendar for fertilizing, mowing, pre-emergent weed applications, watering, and various types of weed control. Participants will go outside to see various grasses the Gardens has used for different sites and learn practical tips and information on how to adjust for issues like shade, direct sun, foot traffic and more.
