11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday April 05

MetroFamily Magazine's Kids Fest is the metro area's largest indoor fun event with interactive, educational activities for children of all ages. Over 6000 Oklahoma City family members are expected to attend this year's event on Saturday, April 5, from 11:30am-4:30pm, held at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City, a new venue for the event. This year, over 60 booths with hands-on activities for kids, an Education Expo with education resources for parents, a STEM Safari area that features robotics activities, inflatables, a petting zoo by Extreme Animals, roaming costume characters from Forever After Parties and much more will greet Kids Fest attendees. Door prizes and grand prizes will be awarded. Admission is free for children ages 18 and younger; adults are $5. Street parking is free. Coupons are available atwww.metrofamilymagazine.com/kids-fest.

Entertainment at the event will include performances by Oklahoma’s own kindie bands Chasing James and Spaghetti Eddie, local dance troupes, Upstage Theatre and Science Museum Oklahoma. Games, art projects, science and technology demos, and Lego®-themed building exhibits will add to the family fun. Bounce houses will be provided by Allison’s Fun and the Oklahoma City Barons and Oklahoma City Energy will provide a hockey rink and inflatable soccer goal to keep kids active.

"Kids Fest connects families to educational resources and local services that make learning fun. It's meant for the whole family, and planned with children in mind. Each booth features a hands-on activity, so it's definitely an engaging event," affirms Sarah Taylor, publisher of MetroFamily. "We're excited to see these community resources come together in one incredible afternoon."

Kids Fest is hosted by MetroFamily Magazine and co-sponsored by K12.com (Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy), Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA) and Oklahoma STEM Foundation. More about the event and a list of current booth vendors can be found atwww.metrofamilymagazine.com/kids-fest.
