Something Old and Something New
Noon-5 p.m., Thursday April 10
Linda Scott, better know as “Scottie” has been working in the Art Glass Industry for over thirty-five years. She has co-owned a successful retail and commission stained glass store in Edmond, and Oklahoma City. She is now retired from the retail and stained glass commission studio. Scottie still is very involved in the art of glass painting, which has been her passion for drawing and studying the human face and form.
Scottie has studied under the well known glass painters such as Albinus Elskus, Richard Millard, Peter McGrain, and Kenneth Leap. She has also studied with well known porcelain portrait artists, Sand Do and Mariela Villasmil-Kaminski. She continues to paint for other glass studios, that are producing liturgical work, and painted
applications in art glass panels.
Now that she is away from the time constraints of retail and studio requirements, Scottie has returned to the simple joy of sketching and drawing. She is enjoying capturing the look of a small child, or exploring the expression of an aging saint. She is experimenting with other mediums to branch into new subjects of animals and florals. Scottie continues to do commission work in the area of glass painting, and porcelain portrait painting. She has recently been doing several pet portraits in graphite and colored pencil.
