Singing Sooners Spring Show

None
8 p.m., Friday April 25

The University of Oklahoma School of Music presents the Singing Sooners Spring Show at 8 p.m. Friday, April 25 in the Sharp Concert Hall, Catlett Music Center.  Jim Graves and Stephen Ziegler serve as directors for the group.

The Singing Sooners are a contemporary a cappella/vocal jazz ensemble performing pop, jazz, and spirit songs. Highlights of the evening are songs by Michael Jackson, The Blues Brothers, Adelle, Imogen Heap, Jamiroquai, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. “The Singing Sooners Spring Show is a showcase of quality music and arrangement performed in an interesting way,” Graves said.  “Our show is similar to the music you would find on the show ‘The Sing Off.’  Image the soul of Ray Charles, the funk and drive of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, the power of stomp, and the groovitude of Take 6.”

Singing Sooners members are: Shawn Abhari, Jonathan Buckelew, Emily Browning, Emily Cole, Elvie Ellis, Emily Evans, Joseph Geresi, Daniella Hightower, Keegan Josephson, Ashley Leisten, Katie Neighbors, Conor O’Brien, David Sergent, Hayley St. John, Jake Warren, Paige Whitson, and Ryne Young.

The Singing Sooners Spring Show is free and open to the public.
