Oklahoma’s most talented and vital seniors will sing, dance and perform in the 2014 Oklahoma Senior Follies on June 13, 14 and 15, 2014, at the Kirkpatrick Auditorium of Oklahoma City University, 2501 N. Blackwelder Ave.
For the first time in Follies history, Barry Switzer, king of OU football, will don a new crown as King of the 2014 Oklahoma Senior Follies. “We feel that having him as our king is a huge chance to reach out to attract the community to the Follies,” said Bobbie Burbridge Lane, Chairman of The Burbridge Foundation which produces the show.
Lane hopes people who might not otherwise, will come see the show because of Switzer’s reign.
This fourth annual Follies is a Ziegfeld Follies-like production with the theme, Black Tie Affair.
The Oklahoma Senior Follies, founded by Lane in 2010, is intended to revitalize and inspire the senior community while raising awareness of the need to bring joy to this segment of society that is often neglected.

Additionally, proceeds from the production each year are donated to Mobile Meals of CentralOklahoma. To date, more than 70,000 meals have been provided to frail, homebound seniors through donations from the Follies.
“Our fragile, homebound seniors … for the most part have been just put on a shelf, forgotten and certainly neglected. Mobile Meals has lost a huge part of their federal and state funding with cuts,” Lane said. “This Follies is all about re-energizing our senior community.”
Dr. Michael Anderson will emcee and David Herendeen, OCU’s Director of Opera and Musical Theatre, will direct the production. Stars of the Follies include Grammy winner Jody Miller, stage and screen actress and singer Jane Hall, Broadway performer and artist Charlotte Franklin, prolific choreographer, dancer and actor Bob Windsor, accomplished actor Terry Runnels and many more amazingly talented seniors with impressive professional resumes.
