Witness for the Prosecution

7-9:30 p.m., Tuesday July 15
The Stage Door in Yukon is thrilled to be holding auditions for the first show of the 2014-2015 Season, Agatha Christie’s “Witness for the Prosecution.” Directed by Frieda Penn, along with assistant director Allison Penn, the show features a flexible cast size between 13 and 30.

Set in the 1950’s, the action takes place in the Chambers of Sir Wilfrid Robarts and the London Central Criminal Court, better known as the Old Bailey. Leonard Vole stands trial for the murder of his beneficiary, and even though his wife can prove his innocence, she takes the stand and denies his alibi. Can he escape the hangman’s noose? Ms. Christie keeps you guessing the entire time with lots of plot twists and turns and a big surprise ending!

The cast minimally consists of 8 male and 5 female roles with the possibility of many extras. The leads are for adults, ranging in ages of 18-70.

Those auditioning need to bring their acting resume along with a headshot. If you do not have a headshot, a photo can be taken at the theatre for a nominal $1.00 fee. Everyone also needs to provide a list of their conflicts from July 24 through September 14. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and both proper and cockney English accents will be used.

“Witness for the Prosecution” performance dates are September 5, 6, 12, & 13 at 7:30 p.m. and September 7 & 14 at 2:30 p.m. Audition dates are September 14 & 15 from 7-9:30 p.m. nightly. Callbacks will be Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m., if needed.

If you have questions or require more information, the director can be reached at 405/640-5095 or e-mailed at stagedooryukon@gmail.com.
