Edmond Youth Triathlon Series
Kids ages 5-15 can develop a lifetime of healthy play by participating in the YMCA Youth Triathlon Series. The series offers six competitive events during the spring and summer, each featuring swimming, biking and running. The MITCH PARK Y will host its triathlon July 19th.
“The Y is the starting point for many kids to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits that they will carry with them throughout life,” said Mike Roark, Executive Director of the MITCH PARK and RANKIN YMCAs in Edmond. “Our youth triathlon series gives kids an opportunity to improve skills, be active with other kids, make new friends and enjoy spirited competition.”
The Edmond youth triathlon will start and end at the MITCH PARK YMCA located at 2901 Marilyn Williams Drive, Edmond, OK 73003. The swim competition will be held at the YMCA swimming pool located on the northwest side of the facility. Participants will begin competing at 7:00 a.m by age categories including Bantam 5 & under, Junior 6-8, Intermediate 9-11 and Seniors 12-15.
Top finishers will be recognized at an awards ceremony following the triathlon. Participants will receive a t-shirt and participation medal. Each course is chipped time, which provides the athletes an opportunity to improve at each event. Children participating in a minimum of three triathlons will be eligible to compete for the title of YMCA Youth Triathlon Series Champion.
