 2013)— The University of Oklahoma School of Music and Boggess Artist 
Concert Series opens the spring semester with
Walt Strony,
 premiere theatre organist, at 8 p.m. Friday, January 25 in Paul Sharp 
Concert Hall, Catlett Music Center, 500 W. Boyd Street in Norman.&nbsp;

Strony will perform a wide range of popular music on
the 1931 M. P. Möller Op. 5819 pipe organ.&nbsp;

“Walt is one of the 
finest theatrical performers in the world, and it is a great pleasure to
 welcome him to the University of Oklahoma.&nbsp;
His concert will include something for everyone and will really showcase the ability of the organ to perform popular music.&nbsp;

Strony is writer, 
concert organist and has many CD recordings of high acclaim. As an 
author, he is well known for his book "The Secrets Of Theatre Organ 
Registration",
 which has become the standard reference book on this subject. Strony is
 the only living&nbsp;organist to have been twice voted "Organist of the 
Year" by the American Theatre Organ Society - in 1991 and 1993. In 2011,
 he was inducted into the ATOS "Hall of Fame"&nbsp;the
 youngest person currently in it.&nbsp; He has performed with the Calgary 
Symphony; Allentown Symphony;&nbsp;El Paso Symphony; and Symphony Silicon 
Valley.&nbsp;</p>

 Boggess Artist Concert Series is dedicated to Mildred Andrews Boggess, 
professor of organ at the University of Oklahoma from 1938
 to 1976, who taught a generation of organists the highest standards of 
their art.
