Improv Festival Oklahoma celebrates its first half-decade in the biz of make-it-up comedy with several shows at Sooner Theatre, 101 E. Main in Norman. The Midwest gets a taste of the Far East via the works of Juuri. Born in Japan, the unimonikered artist creates colorful paintings and drawings of flowers and figures of her home country. The results can be seen through Aug. 30 in A Vivid Paradox, opening with a reception from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at DNA Galleries, 1709 N.W. 16th. Admission is free.
