Slipping Mickey

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
In the June 1 edition of the Gazette, Mickey McVay wrote a scathing letter (“Discouraging words”) implying that the negative names that liberals use to define conservatives detract from intelligent political conversation (a letter I rebuked in the June 15 issue with “The gospel according to a ‘liberal’”).

The right facts

Letters to the Editor

Marty Morelli
In the July 6 issue of the Gazette, Brandon Wertz (“Ridiculous ‘Rocky and Bullwinkle’ logic”) states that my referring to Hitler as a “progressive” spit in the face of the entire Jewish community.

‘Stop yelling, start listening'

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
In the July 27 issue of the Gazette, Marty Morelli (“The right facts”) continues this attempt to excoriate progressives using the very same tactic that he originally used in his “Hitler was a progressive” diatribe on June 29.

His response to Greg Horton’s “Walk this way” article (Sept. 21, Gazette) tries its hardest to find contradiction in Randy Potts’ interpretation of Christianity by utilizing mental jujitsu to prove that same interpretation would allow for murder.

It was with great shock and applause that I read Jenny Coon Peterson’s “Not everybody’s ready for some football” (Oct. 12, Gazette).

WWJD?

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
In response to “Bah, humbug!” (Chicken-Fried News, Nov. 23, Gazette) in which U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe claimed he would never attend Tulsa’s Holiday Parade of Lights because it nixes the word “Christmas,” I have to say, good for him.

Shock and schadenfreude

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
I’m not sure which emotion best conveys my feelings with regard to Tom Furlong’s Nov. 16 response (“A shot in the dark,” Oklahoma Gazette) to James Cooper’s story, “From closet to community,” (Nov. 2 and 9, Gazette).

For the payroll tax cut

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
It’s the season of giving, so I can’t help but be amazed at how hard our Congress had been working to take something away from millions of employed Americans.
