Enjoyable work from Hollywood's go-to action guy

13

Hey, man, nice shot!

Thriller

Rod Lott
Since the 2005 French thriller "13 Tzameti" was pretty good on its own, why bother to remake it? I have a theory: Sad to say, most Americans won't willingly watch movies that are in black and white, or have subtitles, or don't have famous faces they recognize. And they sure as hell won't watch movies that fall into all three categories of "liabilities," as "13 Tzameti" does.

In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds

Have a dollop of Dolph in your Boll.

Action

Rod Lott
Oh, to lead Dolph Lundgren's life! In the opening scenes of "In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds," his Granger character teaches a martial-arts class, goes home, drinks, sniffles, whistles, draws a bath and punches and/or kicks knife-wielding, hooded-robed intruders.

Safe

Because ‘Safe’ doesn’t play that way, it succeeds.

Action

Rod Lott
Because she has a photographic memory for digits, 11-year-old Mei (newcomer Catherine Chan) was kidnapped and taken from Beijing to Brooklyn to "count" for the Chinese Triads, like a pint-sized accountant who needs no calculator.
