A long time ago, at a movie theater over there on May, I first saw those words, “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.” That’s “Star Wars,” you know. While the 6-year-old me loved it, it didn’t define my childhood — or adulthood, as it has so many.
Still, I’m interested to see what else George Lucas has up his sweater sleeves with next month’s release of “
Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray
. With a street date of Sept. 16, you have several weeks to go, but you can get a sneak peek right now at the set’s 40-plus hours of bonus features via the new “
Star Wars Blu-ray: Early Access App.”
Available “for all iDevices,” it offers samples of “never-before-seen content sourced from the Lucasfilm Archives such as matte paintings and concept art; prop, maquette and costume turnarounds; supplementary interviews with cast and crew; and more.”
The app is free. The box set costs $139.99 more than that.
