Rounds of boos

From the dawn of cinema to its dreadful dregs, plenty of Halloween treats will keep your eyeballs alert.

Features

Rod Lott
This Halloween season offers no shortage of scares on the silver screen — even beyond Sinister, Paranormal Activity 4 and Atlas Shrugged: Part II!

Halloween II / Halloween III: Season of the Witch / Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers / Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

Happy Halloween! Times four!

Horror

Rod Lott
Anyone who says the 1978 original is the only good movie in the Halloween franchise is kidding himself. While none of the succeeding chapters may match the power, there's plenty of fun to be had beyond that one night he came home.

Elvira’s Movie Macabre: Mega Movie Marathon

Like an old-school monster rally busting at the seams!

Horror

Rod Lott
“Paired” — ahem — thematically across six discs are 12 feature films hosted by Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark, on her Mega Movie Marathon. Television series

Terror on a Train

Choo-choo-choose something else.

Thriller

Rod Lott
Not to be confused with the ’80s slasher Terror Train — but, oh, how I wish it were! — 1952's Terror on a Train finds Glenn Ford (Superman: The Movie's Pa Kent) as Peter Lyncort, a bomb diffuser whose home life with his spouse (French actress Anne Vernon) is currently as explosive as his work life.

LETTERS

Letters to the Editor

Lynn Rambo-Jones
Each year, Gov. Mary Fallin sponsors a food bank drive asking state employees to contribute. The food collected is donated to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. On first consideration, this seems like a laudable effort.
