Copperheads — Apocalyptic Behavior

Joshua Boydston
Oklahoma City’s Copperheads have remained relatively quiet this year — ironic, given that the punk outfit stands alongside The Boom Bang and Shitty/Awesome as the metro’s loudest rock bands.

New shift

Comedian James Ngheim remakes the ’90s classic ‘Clerks’ ... kind of.

Alyssa Grimley
For local comedian James Nghiem, doing a shot-for-shot remake of Kevin Smith’s influential indie comedy of 1994, Clerks, just sounded like a fun thing to do.

Historic Block Party and National Medal Celebration

OKG7 things to do

Gazette staff

Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is awesome for a variety of reasons (namely dinosaurs). But it’ll be extra awesome this weekend as the museum celebrates its National Medal for Museum and Library Service with a block party featuring live music, food trucks and complimentary admission. It all goes down 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Sam Noble Museum, 2401 Chautauqua Ave., in Norman. Call 325-4712 or visit

Team Hot Wheels: The Origin of Awesome

OKG7 things to do

Gazette staff

It’s not exactly clear when Awesome began (although Oklahoma Gazette was founded in 1979). Team Hot Wheels: The Origin of Awesome follows the team as they try to stop a mysteriously dangerous black car through the sleepy town of Hilly Woodlands. The all-ages movie screens 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday at Cinemark Tinseltown USA, 6001 N. Martin Luther King Ave.; AMC Quail Springs, 2501 W. Memorial Rd.; and Regal Spotlight Stadium, 1100 N. Interstate Drive in Norman. Tickets are $7-$15. Visit
