I was excited to see your article covering the wonderful Variety Care nonprofit (Rachael Cervenka, “Capitol care,” March 20, Oklahoma Gazette). The work they are doing is truly needed, as Oklahoma is consistently among the 10 states with the highest teen pregnancy rates.

Dejawn Roberts was a 14-year-old student at Oklahoma Centennial Mid-High School in northeast Oklahoma City when she gave birth to her son, Jarron Jr. Now, a year later, she is getting instruction on parenting from the local nonprofit Family Builders.
