Today marks the 36th annual March of Dimes Mercy Sports Headliner Awards Banquet, to be held on the floor of the Cox Convention Center. This event will honor athletes and coaches who have taken an active interest and brought national attention to the Oklahoma March of Dimes Chapter.
The national voluntary healthy agency's mission is to improve the health of babies by way of prevention and education.
Flying in to host for the evening is ABC's The Bachelor
host Chris Harrison, who used to work and play in Oklahoma. As a former Oklahoma City University soccer player, he's personally interested in sports, as well as philanthropic ventures.
“I just wanted to find a way to come back to Oklahoma City. This was a great excuse to come back to a place that means a lot to me. It's where I started,” said Harrison. “To be asked to come back is a real honor for me. I'm very excited to come home and see everybody.”
