Rep. Paul Wesselhöft’s letter (“Rep. Paul Wesselhöft questions Islamophobia,” Oct. 5, Gazette) struck me as very ironic. His attempt to defend himself against charges of being Islamophobic and ill-informed demonstrated that he is both.

The letter by Chris Reiger (“A response to Paul Wesselhoft,” Nov. 9, Gazette) attempts to justify Arab anger against the United States, even to the extreme of cheering while America was attacked on 9/11, by blaming America’s support of Israel.
