One of our state’s most conservative voices (heck, one of the nation’s) has softened his tone. Sen. Jim Inhofe said recently his “attitude” toward his across-the-aisle Senate peers changed as a result of sympathy he received after the death of his son, Perry Inhofe, 52, who died in a plane crash in November.

Who says it’s all vitriol and partisan backstabbing in Washington, D.C.? Well it is, but sometimes our elected leaders set their anathema for those in the opposite party aside and actually say nice things to each other, especially in a time of illness or loss.
