Pet the trumpet

After hearing a concert by the Oklahoma City University Wind Philharmonic, kids can try out the instruments.

For all you boaters, history buffs or fans of music in general, Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble presents the third concert of its 2013- 14 season. “Shanties, Songs and Serenades” features works exclusively for wind instruments, with a little piano thrown in for good measure. The performances are at 7:30 p.m. Monday at All Souls’ Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Ave. and Tuesday at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 127 NW Seventh St. Admission is $15. Visit
