Celebrate Native American culture at the sixth annual Spring Contest Powwow, to begin noon Saturday at Oklahoma City University’s Freede Center, 2501 N. Blackwelder. Complete with a drum contest, the free event includes gourd dancing at 2 and 6 p.m., dinner at 5 p.m. and grand entry at 7 p.m. Call 208-5077 or visit okcu.edu.

Dancing, singing, art, jewelry, food, activities and more — all putting the “wow” in “powwow.” To be specific, the 10th annual Tinker Intertribal Council Powwow, taking place from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park, 8700 E. Reno in Midwest City. Thousands gather each year to celebrate Native American culture. Admission is free. Call 739-1293 or visit visitmidwestcity.com.
