Rather than going to Beasts of the Southern Wild, you should approach the theater with the idea of going with it. That’s what one Gazette film reviewer said about the imaginative fantasy this past July during its brief theatrical release. With Beasts building serious awards buzz, catch it while you can, with six showings Thursday through Sunday at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch. Tickets are $5-$8. Call 236-3100 or visit okcmoa.com.

It’s alive! It’s alive! Or rather, it will be, beginning Thursday. That’s when Oklahoma City Theatre Company unwraps its production of Frankenstein at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker, where it runs through Oct. 27. OKCTC artistic director Rachel Irick promises a Frankenstein for “a new generation,” including a techno score. Tickets are $10-$20. Call 297-2264 or visit okctc.org.
