Derby Week continues through Sunday at Remington Park, 1 Remington Place, with a variety of “thorough” activities to kick off the thoroughbred racing season. For example, a disco party at 9 p.m. Thursday, a stable tour at 9 a.m. Sunday and the ever-brimming Oklahoma Derby Hat Contest at 2 p.m. Sunday, to name just a few. Same fest, new location. The 2014 Red Earth Festival features hundreds of American Indian artists, dancers and performers from around the continent in one of the country’s premiere cultural showcases, with a parade 9 a.m. Friday at Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave. The festival itself begins at 6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday-Saturday at Remington Park, 1 Remington Place. Admission is $7.50-$10. Visit redearth.org.
