You could see a future gold medalist — and, therefore, potential Wheaties box model — when the Oklahoma River plays host to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials for Flatwater Sprint in canoe and kayak on Friday and Saturday at the Boathouse District, 725 S. Lincoln. Also on Saturday, kids age 8 to 16 can go for a short paddle with a top U.S. athlete. Admission is free. Visit boathousedistrict.org.

On Saturday, Olympic gold medalists Bart Connor and Nadia Comaneci invite the public to live healthier lifestyles at their 2013 Bart & Nadia Sports & Health Festival at the Cox Convention Center, 1 Myriad Gardens. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the indoor activities include archery, sitting volleyball and a fun run through The Underground downtown tunnels. Admission is free. Visit bartandnadiafestival.com.
