Freihofer Casting has issued an open call for extras to cheer on the
Thunder at a fictional home game for the Warner Bros., feature film
“Thunderstruck,” which stars none other than Mr. Two-Time-League-Scoring
Champ himself.

The film industry and the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program are
good for Oklahoma. In an industry driven by financial incentives, if the
state Legislature eliminates the film rebate this session, our growing
industry will likely die.
Presented almost without comment, it’s the trailer to Kevin Durant’s first film, Kazaam Thunderstruck. The family film starring Oklahoma City’s new favorite son was shot primarily in, um, Baton Rouge, La.?!?
At least the trailer does explain why we didn’t win the national title. Who knew?
To borrow an old joke from SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment, Thunderstruck hits theaters Aug. 24, and home video on Aug. 25. —Rod Lott
OKC Thunder star Kevin Durant’s movie debut hurts as much as an NBA Playoffs loss to the Miami Heat.
Comedy Harrison Lott Editor’s note: For Thunderstruck, the new family comedy starring the
Thunder’s Kevin Durant, it struck us that, since the movie is really
aimed at pre-teen and teenaged KD fans, who better to review it than an
avowed Thunder fan of that age? Here with his review is guest critic
Harrison Lott, a 15-year-old student at Edmond Memorial High School.
CFN Gazette staff Thunderstruck boasts more than just the distinction of marking
the big-screen debut of OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant. The film, an
alleged comedy in which the Durantula’s basketball skills are
inadvertently swiped by a school kid, might just be the first-ever
family-friendly movie to include an appearance by an accused child
molester. Granted, there was that John Wayne Gacy cameo in 1974’s Herbie Rides Again, but we’re told you’ve gotta look really fast for that one.

vehicle for Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant also will be
released on Blu-ray, for those cinephiles who wish to best replicate the
theatrical experience.
