I have many things for which I am thankful this Thanksgiving. Topping that list, as he has for the last 21 years, is my husband, Wayne. Also high on the list are our four-legged children, my parents, good health, great friends and a job I love.

More than a decade after its predecessor disappeared from Oklahoma City, a nonprofit that combats bias, bigotry and racism is branching out from Tulsa. The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OCCJ) has launched an effort to design an entirely new program in OKC.

Representative Sally Kern is just thinking of the children, especially the right for them to bear, well, things in the shape of arms. In a funny little piece of legislature proposed by her, it would make it illegal for teachers to punish children for having weapons on their minds and indulging in playtime activities such as drawing a gun, using fingers or hands in the shape of a gun or making gun noises.
