Go West

Its namesake might be a busy thoroughfare, but West offers modern cuisine in a sleek, calm setting.

Restaurant Reviews

Jenn Scott
West Restaurant
6714 N. Western
607-4072

What works: Thoughtful, flavorful dishes.
What needs work: Maybe add the sandwiches to the dinner menu, as well.
The tip: Sub cashew cheese for actual cheese if you're looking to cut dairy.

Viva vegan

Mexican restaurant goes vegan, again, with pleasantly surprising results.

Food and Drink Features

Tamazul

5820 N. Classen Blvd.

What works: The jicama wraps and tacos are so good, you stop caring that they’re vegan.

What needs work: The tamales needed a little more filling and flavor.

Tips: Juice is really more of a smoothie. The spicy green is expensive but glug-worthy.

Sergio's Italian review

A small Italian eatery offers big flavors with a loving attention to detail.

Sergio’s Italian Bistro

What worked: Great freshness and delicacy of flavors.

What needs work: House salad dressing was too heavy on the vinegar.

Tip: Go with the nightly special, whatever it is. You won’t be disappointed.
