In the context of jazz, the trumpet can be lethal. Just ask Allen Vizzutti, one of the most accomplished trumpeters and composers in the world. See Vizzutti literally blow your mind at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday as part of the 44th Annual SWOSU Jazz Festival in the Fine Arts Center at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, 100 E. Campus Drive in Weatherford. Tickets are $3-$10. Call (580)774-3063 or visit swosu.edu.

Say it with us: Bobrauschenbergamerica. A mouthful, maybe, but its combination of music, dancing, love stories and (you guessed it) chicken jokes certainly makes for a bellyful of laughter. See the tribute to American pop artist Robert Rauschenberg 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Hall Theatre on the University of Central Oklahoma campus, 100 N. University Drive in Edmond. Tickets are $10-$14. Call 974-3375 or visit uco.edu.

The Drowsy Chaperone is hardly a drowsy production. The Tony Award-winning musical comedy is a lighthearted, family-friendly show that recalls the best of the Golden Age of musicals. See University Theatre’s rendition 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Rupel J. Jones Theatre, 563 Elm St. on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman. Tickets are $15-$30. Call 325-4101 or visit ou.edu/finearts.
