Oklahoma City University closes its theater season with a steampunk version of the cutthroat musical Sweeney Todd. You’ll never see a more melodious, maniacal barber than at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, or 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bass School of Music’s Kirkpatrick Auditorium, 2501 N. Blackwelder. Tickets are $12-$25. Show up early for a free curtain talk with director David Herendeen 45 minutes before each show. Call 208-5227 or visit okcu.edu/music.

Rube Goldberg lives! Or at least his spirit does, in Mechanics and Invention: A Showcase of Rube Goldberg Projects, running through May 5 at the University of Central Oklahoma Nigh University Center, 100 University Drive in Edmond. The student-created exhibit highlights machines that inflate a balloon and pop it, with no human help, in 10 steps or less. Admission is free. Call 974-5210 or visit uco.edu.

The musical runs 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, with the run ending June 24. Tickets are $10-$20. Call 974-3375 or visit summerstockok.com.
