National Lampoon's Vacation: 30th Anniversary Edition

A comedy classic turns 30; moose outside shoulda told ya.

Comedy

Rod Lott
I found out long ago it's a long way down the Holiday Road — three decades, to be precise. I forever hold an extra-special affinity for 1983's National Lampoon's Vacation, not just because it's a modern comedy classic, but because it was the first R-rated movie I got to see in theaters; I was 12. (Thank you, Janice Haunschild, for convincing my mom she had nothing to worry about.)

Enter the Dragon: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition

Enter the greatest martial-arts film in history.

Action

Rod Lott
To karate-chop right to the chase, Enter the Dragon is the martial-arts movie to end all martial-arts movies. This comes as news to no one who has seen and enjoyed it over what now amounts to four decades. To celebrate that milestone, Warner Home Video has reissued it on Blu-ray in a handsome 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition.

A joyful vision

Joy Reed Belt celebrates 10 years of Art at the Elms and a lifetime of growth in the Paseo District.

Visual Arts

Dawn Watson
For Joy Reed Belt, JRB Art at The Elms isn’t just a gallery; it’s a responsibility.

It’s a responsibility to the Paseo Arts District, to original property owner Nan Sheets, to late husband John Belt and to herself.

It still hurts

Time can repair a lot of things, but learning how to live a different life after a major disaster is an ongoing process.

News

Tim Farley
With the exception of time, life hasn’t changed much for Joy Waldroop during the last six months. She still hurts, agonizes and grieves. New bricks and mortar can’t replace her loss.

Born and raised during the Great Depression in a rural setting near Wewoka, Jim Howell knew he had a passion for the law. Fifty years later, he’s as busy as he was in the early 1960s.
