This weekend, there really will be no place like home. Enjoy Oklahoma City Ballet’s 40th anniversary encore performances of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker.
The show debuted during the troupe’s 2008-2009 season, featuring an original score by Kermit Poling. Performances will be 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
This show, typical of the immaculate artistic direction of Robert Mills, will feature flying effects and a three-dimensional tornado.
And, of course, the production wouldn't be complete without a Toto:
After each matinée performance of Oklahoma City Ballet’s The Nutcracker, kiddos can get autographs and take pictures with Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Nutcracker Prince himself. Performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday–Sunday at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker Ave. Tickets start at $15. For more information, call 848-8637 or visit okcballet.com/nutcracker.
