For seven performances starting Wednesday, Dec. 19, the Cirque du Soleil troupe brings Dralion to town. Inspired by ancient Chinese circus traditions, the acrobatic musical spectacle will unfold inside Chesapeake Energy Arena, 100 W. Reno, through Dec. 23. Tickets are $35-$150. Celebrating the Christmas season and the end of the world (so say those silly Mayans) is Navidad Espectacular!, an outstandingly outlandish art exhibit at Bomb Shelter, 1609 N. Blackwelder. With an opening reception from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, it runs through Dec. 31 ... er, unless those pesky Mayans prove correct, in which case, Dec. 21. Admission is free. Call 628-2689.

If Dec. 21 indeed turns out to be the day that wipes humanity away, at least you can go out with ears ringing. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, The Chameleon Room, 3034 N. Portland, presents an End of the World concert of local metal bands Anti-Mortem, Earth Shook Run, Killer Gandhi, Dark Ascent, Anialas, Area of Effect and pictured Everybody Panic! Admission is free.
