Gov. Mary Fallin’s $106 million-a-year tax cut proposal effectively precludes Oklahoma from spending a net $50 million annually to insure 200,000 Oklahomans under Obamacare, a coldblooded death sentence for thousands who will suffer and die from treatable medical conditions. The pro-life crowd’s road to prosperity is paved with human bones.

Minimum wage isn’t a “market wage”

Labor Commissioner Mark Costello’s argument against the minimum wage (Commentary, "OKC benefits from market cages,” March 26, Oklahoma Gazette) rests on a false premise. We do not have a free market for labor. The wages of low income workers are not “market wages.” Our economy is tightly regulated to favor capital over labor and to suppress wages.
