You’re going to need a bigger boat ... again!

Six bona fide movie classics are headed back to Cinemark Tinseltown.

One of my 10 favorite movies of all time, space and dimension, Jaws, is not only debuting on Blu-ray on Tuesday, but soon will re-surface on the big screen at Cinemark Tinseltown, 6001 Martin Luther King.

The supreme shark flick to end all shark flicks kicks off the Cinemark Fall Classic Series, which features digitally restored prints of half a dozen classic films, Oscar winners all. Each will play for one Thursday only, with showings at 2 and 7 p.m. Here’s the schedule:

• Jaws (1975), Aug. 23
• High Noon (1952), Aug. 30
• Doctor Zhivago (1965), Sept. 6
• Chinatown (1974), Sept. 13
• The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), Sept. 20
• The African Queen (1951), Sept. 27

Blade Anime

The vampire hunter gets a toothless treatment.

I love the character of Blade. I love the Blade comic books, starting with his debut in Marvel's Tomb of Dracula in the 1970s. I love all three Blade movies — yes, including that third one. Hell, I even love the short-lived Blade series Spike TV aired in 2006.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXIV

XXIV, VXI, XXX, IV, X — hell, it's all ~~Greek~~ Roman to me. All I know for sure is that each and every box set that has been or will be released of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is worth owning. Since the new Volume XXIV falls into that category, it, too, qualifies.

Grimm: Season One

Marrying Hollywood's current fairy-tale craze to the ever popular crime procedural is Grimm. While it works on both levels, that it blends the two into a unified whole gives the concept so much fizz, as the 22 episodes of its five-disc first season indicate. This one's perfect for marathoning.

That The Hangover director Todd Phillips has plans to helm an Americanization of the Danish comedy Klown (or Klovn) comes as neither a surprise nor a shock. I'd only be surprised if the remake can get within arm's length of equaling it.

Dark Shadows

The vampire comedy doesn't suck.

One of this summer's biggest bombs, Dark Shadows is only a disappointment if you expect a straight take on the 1960s Gothic soap opera. Then again, the TV series is such the definition of niche-cult that most moviegoers didn't know what to make of it. While I would have preferred to see Tim Burton go horror with the material — more Sleepy Hollow, less Beetlejuice — I still found the quasi-spoof comedy to be a mild delight.
