Wear it

You know what they say: Those who wear hats make more bank. Aight, so they don’t say that, but it will hold true for a few lucky ones covering their noggins at the annual Kentucky Derby hat contest, from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Remington Park, 1 Remington Place. Winners will take home anywhere from $100 to $500, but all can enjoy the tea party. Call 424-1000 or visit remingtonpark.com.

Art it

OKG7 things to do

Gazette staff
JRB Art at The Elms had us at “painted fantasies.” Those of Chicago artist Eleanor Spiess-Ferris are on display through May 29 at the 2810 N. Walker gallery. You’ll find those wild, tragic works adorning the walls alongside the abstract paintings of Oklahoma City’s Beth Hammack. That’s two exhibitions for the price of none, as admission is free. Call 528-6336 or visit jrbartgallery.com.
