‘Batchelder logic’

Letters to the Editor

Mike Brake
Poor Nathaniel Batchelder (Letters, “Lankford and the Bush trifecta,” Aug. 31, Gazette). His frequent letters here are always a convoluted intellectual wrestling match between fact and fantasy, with a dollop of hypocrisy for spice. Time-out for towers

Commentary

Lee Peoples
Just look up and you’ll notice the proliferation of cellphone towers around Oklahoma City. Many of these towers reach heights of 125 feet or taller. AT&T, only one of many wireless providers, is planning at least 60 applications for new towers or antennas this year alone. A temporary moratorium on new cellphone towers, combined with an examination of the applicable zoning rules, is in order.

Food stamps and munchies

Letters to the Editor

Marty Morelli
This letter concerns Kurt Hochenauer’s Commentary “War on logic” (Aug. 3, Oklahoma Gazette): Hochenauer states that the war on drugs is not working, and that one answer is to legalize them.

For the public good

Letters to the Editor

Chadwick Cox
So just what does Jason Reese think that is taught in public schools that undermines our children’s faith? Is it real science, evolution and not the debunked and religiously motivated intelligent design? That earth is very much older than 6,000 years?

Point: ‘An Oklahoma City landmark’

Commentary

Lee A. Fithian

Once again, Stage Center faces extinction. In 1972, the same year it won the Honor Award from The American Institute of Architects and the New York City Museum of Modern Art accepted the building model into its permanent collection, the Mummers Theater (as it was known then) was threatened to be demolished for lack of operating funds.
