Festa it

OKG7 things to do

Gazette staff

There’s no “I” in Festa. But that’s OK, because you’ll be guzzling too much local food and beer to notice. The kid-friendly Mesta Festa is an annual endof-summer celebration to raise funds for the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association. Festivities take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Perle Mesta Park, 1900 N. Shartel Ave. Visit mestapark.org.

If you like these things (and really, who doesn’t?), check out An Affair of the Heart Friday through Sunday at State Fair Park, 3001 General Pershing Blvd. Call 632-2652, or visit aaoth.com.

Crater of Diamonds State Park near Murfreesboro, Ark., has lived up to its name for one lucky Oklahoma City teenager. On Oct. 19th, 14-year-old Tana Clymer hit the jackpot while visiting. Clymer found a 3.85-carat canary yellow diamond — which she has named God’s Jewel — in the 37-acre area in which visitors are allowed to hunt for the precious stones.
