‘Sex Machine’: Still chuggin’!

CFN

Gazette staff
Way back on Oct. 13, 2004, Oklahoma Gazette reported from the set of Sex Machine, a microbudget indie film shot in the Oklahoma City metro. Its director and co-writer, then local graphic designer Christopher Sharpe, had no visions of making anything other than a good time.

Ninja III: The Domination

I give it four (throwing) stars!

Action

Rod Lott
Don't ask why Ninja III: The Domination begins with a ninja assault on a municipal golf course. Just be grateful it does. You also may wonder why its sex scene employs a can of V8: Don't question it. Just lie back and enjoy it.

The Way, Way Back

Although pleasant, this dramedy works too hard to offer so little.

Drama

Zach Hale
If there’s any type of movie unlikely to offend, it’s usually the coming-of-age story. Films with a relatable central character are more likely to instill a heavy rooting interest in its audience, as we empathize with the protagonist as the story unfolds.

OKG7 It’s a miracle on 23rd Street

Food and Drink Features

Kelley Chambers

Not so long ago, anyone frequenting retailers along NW 23rd Street between N. Broadway Avenue and Western Avenue was shopping for a wig or pawning a television. Cheever’s Cafe was the pioneering restaurant but sat alone for many years. Things didn’t happen overnight, but more restaurateurs gave 23rd a second look and that strip of Route 66 is a diner’s dream.
