Insane in the Kinane

Celebrate Kyle Kinane Day early this year as the celebrated comic returns to OKC.

Performing Arts

Greg Elwell
While the rest of the world readied itself for the Y2K bug that wiped out all technology and forced the planet Earth back into a prehistoric state, comedian Kyle Kinane was doing something much scarier: trying to make people laugh from a stage.

Answer This!

Watch ‘This!’ But only if you really, really are forgiving when it comes to rom-coms.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

So funny, you’ll squeal like a pig.

Comedy

Rod Lott
No scientific studies exist as of yet, but I believe "Tucker and Dale vs Evil" has both the best and worst trailer of this century — best because it accurately portrays the comedy as genuinely clever and funny, worst because it gives away so many spoilers.

Period of Adjustment / Tall Story

Before she was a serious actress, Jane Fonda was seriously fun.

Comedy

Rod Lott
Now available from Warner Archive, 1962's "Period of Adjustment," is very much of its time: one where people would "drink a bicarb" for sour stomachs, where spouses slept in separate beds, where Jane Fonda was quite the cutie, despite near-beehive hair.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

They wish you a raunchy Christmas in this happy new year.

Comedy

Rod Lott
Although the holidays are officially a month in the rearview mirror, the 19th greatest Christmas story ever told — according to co-star Thomas Lennon, at least — is brand-new to Blu: "A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas," the third chapter in the unlikely comedy franchise of two best-bud stoners.

The Catechism Cataclysm

Oh, Lord, this film is as funny as it is strange. And ‘strange’ is an understatement.

Comedy

Rod Lott
As "The Catechism Cataclysm" begins, the audience first hears that this is "110 percent a real story." Although it's said by a priest, take it with a sack of salt — not just because he's not speaking to us, but because writer/director Todd Rohal's unconventional (to say the least) comedy is all about effing with viewers.
