Last call for Stage Center?

Jan. 16 is the deadline for Oklahoma City performing arts lovers to save Stage Center theater, formerly known as Mummers Theater. On that day, the Downtown Design Review Committee will decide whether to approve razing the theater, which was designed by Harvard-educated architect John M. Johansen and opened in 1970.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation scored a spot at No. 51 on Fortune magazine’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2014. Although that may sound impressive, Chesapeake once made it all the way up to No. 18 in 2012 and was still hanging in there at No. 26 last year.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. only thought it had heard the last of its co-founder and former CEO who was pushed out last year. News9 reported Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette recently filed criminal charges against Chesapeake for what he alleged were dirty dealings back in 2010 when Oklahoma native Aubrey McClendon was still at the helm.
