Summer swank

Features

Jenn Scott
You’ve got some red-carpet events upcoming for which you’ll need to get your swank on: weddings, vacations, charitable evenings (ahem, shameless plug for OKC Beautiful’s upcoming Casino Florale, to be held Aug. 16 at The Shoppes at Northpark, 12100 N. May).

Good Morning Grizzly — The Dirty EP

Rock

Zach Hale
Tulsa’s Good Morning Grizzly has been playing together for a couple years now, and although The Dirty EP is technically its first proper release, the melodic alterna-rock quintet sounds nice and, well, grizzled on this five-song debut.

Shackin’ up

Something’s fishy at The Shack ... in a good way.

Restaurant Reviews

Greg Elwell
The Shack Seafood & Oyster Bar
303 N.W. 62nd
608-4333

What works:
It’s flavorful food without overwhelming heat. The seafood court-bouillon is wonderful.
What needs work:
Uh ... it gets a little noisy? Honestly, that’s about it.
Tips:
It’s kind of hidden behind a bank. And parking can be tricky.

Features

Rod Lott
Once more, we not-so-proudly present a handful of additional lists, in an attempt to satiate your need to have everything numbered in a nice, orderly fashion, but not necessarily limited to five slots.

OKG7 inventive breakfasts

OKG7 Dining

Kelley Chambers
Inventive options around the metro shake up the bacon-and-egg breakfast. Sure, there is a time and place for the old favorites, but why not have some fun, too? Bacon and sausage may think they hold a monopoly on breakfast, but they take a backseat to turkey, chicken and even lobster on these menus. Some places even substitute tofu and soy for meat, and odds are you’ll never miss the pork.

Show ’nuff!

Usher in the Christmas season with these 10 things to do for tinsel-time.

Performing Arts

Devon Green

It’s here again: the holiday season. We’ve already stuffed ourselves and given thanks at Thanksgiving and survived possible mortal peril on Black Friday and have come away with some one-of-a-kind cool local goods on Small Business Saturday and Sunday.
