Artist of the Quarantine: Marissa Raglin

"I create ethereal, whimsical collage works of art. Creating with images delicately removed with a cutting blade from vintage magazines, books, and postcards, I work exclusively with unaltered imagery. The images are compiled and become unified, telling one story. Negative space in my work provides the images with room for conversation; the crisp background acts as a springboard for the detail and fusion of the images. Whether a work on paper or panel encased in resin, these images are rescued from thrift stores, half-priced book shops and estate sales and archived within their new story."
